Hey Creator,

I wanted to share something that’s been sitting with me...

Managing your mental health on this founder’s journey is so important and truthfully, I’ve often overlooked it.

Sometimes we think business gets easier as it gets bigger. But what I’m learning (and hearing from those ahead of me) is that it doesn’t necessarily get easier. The responsibility grows. The stakes feel higher.

Sure, you don’t have to learn the same lessons twice but new ones are always awaiting you. And that’s not a negative…

I just listened to an incredible podcast interview with the founders of STAX, the elite activewear brand. They shared a powerful metaphor that stuck with me: life is like a video game—every time you level up, a new ‘baddie’ appears.

Your job isn’t to avoid the challenge, but to slay it, conquer it and in doing so—level up again.

That’s the entrepreneurial journey: you graduate by going through it.

This path can feel tense, lonely, heavy, stressful… and the next day, miraculous. It demands so much of us. It stretches us every day in ways we didn’t expect.

So maybe it’s time we ask ourselves—what are we doing to support our mental health for the long game?

For me, I’m starting to think about the foundations I need in my schedule that aren’t just about business, but about resilience. Strength from the inside out.

Let’s brainstorm. What needs to be in the calendar—non-negotiable—to protect and grow our mental fitness?

• Journaling

• Time in nature

• Actual weekends off

• Support (therapy, coaching, help)

• Yoga or movement

• A surf

• Time with loved ones

• Podcasts with lifting perspectives

• Quality books

• Challenges to build confidence

• Promises to self to build trust

Business has its seasons, but our minds need steady ground. Let’s set the intention for unwavering mental health.

Not perfection. Not always feeling good. But feeling grounded, equipped, and supported as we build something bigger than ourselves.

Would love to hear what nurtures your creative mind?

Onwards,

Jessica
