How to Master the Energy of an 8-Hour Team Shoot Day
Ever watch a brand’s behind-the-scenes & think, “Wow, that shoot looked like a dream…”—while your last campaign left you frazzled, drained, and wondering where the magic went?
Team shoots don’t have to feel like stress. When done right, they can be energising, collaborative & creatively electric.
When you host a team campaign day, vibes are everything.
It’s not just about the final images—it’s about how you got there. The energy you bring to the shoot will live in the content you create.
Here’s how to bring that magic to life and make your next team campaign one to remember:
1. Prep = Peace:
Set the Foundation Before Shoot Day
A calm, confident shoot starts long before the cameras roll. Use a group chat (Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack—whatever suits your style) to:
• Share the itinerary & run sheet
• Drop visual inspo & styling guide
• Answer questions early & often
Give your team the space to learn their roles, ask questions & get familiar with the flow before the shoot.
On the day, have this itinerary printed in the studio as an anchor point people can return to when needed. Clear prep = clear minds.
2. Set the Tone with the Space
A studio should hold your creativity—not limit it. That’s exactly how we designed Flavr. Multiple in-house sets mean every team member can find their own story, angle, and flavr.
Make the space feel like yours the moment you walk in:
• Turn on the lamps
• Fire up the AC or fans
• Connect your Bluetooth
• Burn your incense
• Use the steamer & toiletries to refresh between looks…
A comfortable crew is a confident crew.
3. Feed the Energy—Literally
Nothing slows down a creative day like a hangry team. Fuel matters.
On our &More page, we’ve listed our Trusted Artists—a curated contact list of food caterers, stylists, MUAs, and more. Reliable services you can count on to keep the energy high and your team feeling looked after!
4. Protect the Edges of Your Day
Rushing is the enemy of creativity.
Book enough time for:
• A calm, steady set-up
• Breathing room between key shots
• A peaceful, respectful pack-down
Give the day room to breathe and evolve. Some of the best content comes from the unscripted moments—and those only happen when time allows.
5. Let Everyone Get On the Tools
When your whole team feels empowered to create, the energy shifts. Encourage people to shoot BTS, experiment with sets, and bounce ideas off each other.
You’ll not only walk away with killer campaign content—you’ll have behind-the-scenes gold, team connection, and content that feels alive.
BONUS TIP: have a group Dropbox to collect all visuals from at the end of the day.
This is your sign to make your next campaign a vibe. Curate the energy, set the intention & design the day to work with you—not against you.
When your team feels good, the work speaks for itself.
