Why Creating Content Is Like Planting a Garden (And Why the Numbers Might Not Matter)

As someone building a brand from the ground up, I’ve had a quiet but powerful realisation lately—one that I think might land for a lot of creators:

Creating content is a lot like tending a garden.

You plant something—a video, a photo, a post—and then? You wait. Sometimes it feels like you’re talking to no one. Crickets in the comment section, likes trickling in slower than you hoped, making you question if it was worth sharing at all.

But then, something beautiful happens.

A few months down the line, a notification pops up. Someone finds that video.

The one you thought flopped & they leave a comment that stops you in your tracks:

“This hit me at the perfect time.”

It reminds you—your content is still out there. Still working. Still making its way to the right people. And maybe… it was never about “going viral” at all.

Maybe it’s about alignment via attention.

Because behind every screen is a real person. A single view could be someone who becomes a collaborator, a client, or a long-term supporter of your work.

Those so-called “small numbers”? They’re not small at all when you consider what (or who) they might lead to.

Every piece of content is a seed.

The videos, the behind-the-scenes posts, the quiet thoughts you share—they all accumulate. Bit by bit, you get more fluent on camera. More confident in your message. More you.

And the best part? That content begins to form a gallery of trust—a body of work that speaks before you even have to.

So don’t post to impress everyone today.

Post to impress yourself.

Post to build trust.

Post to be found.

This is the long game & here at our Gold Coast content studio, it’s our honour to witness creators like you show up and plant those seeds—again and again.

We’re cheering you on, always.
